Artefact analysis
Detailed analysis of artefacts provides us with a means of understanding the lives of the people who came before us. Considered and thorough artefact analysis incorporating comparative analysis can bring to life places and people in the distant past and often forms the underpinning to successful site interpretation.
We provide archaeological artefact analysis services to satisfy the requirements of state heritage agencies in TAS, VIC and NSW, including:
- Artefact management during archaeological excavations (on site)
- Artefact processing (cleaning, washing and sorting on or off site)
- Artefact cataloguing using our in-house database (Microsoft Access, exportable to Microsoft Excel)
- Artefact analysis and complex synthesis with post-excavation results

- Artefact analysis reports
- Archaeological collections management and recommendations for considered deaccession/culling
- Cataloguing and labelling of objects
- Training
